vs Apple Hide My Email

Apple's is the best of the built-in options and if you live entirely inside Apple's ecosystem you may not need us at all. Worth saying that first.

What it does well

It is right there. It appears in the signup form, in Safari, in Sign in with Apple, at the moment you need it, with nothing to install and nothing to configure. That integration beats anything a third party can do, and it is why Hide My Email has more users than every dedicated alias service combined.

Where it stops

It forwards to your Apple address, and only there. The destination is the mailbox associated with your Apple account. If your mail lives somewhere else, or you want different aliases going to different places, that is not available.

It requires iCloud+. A paid Apple subscription, on Apple hardware. There is no meaningful way to use it from a Windows desktop or an Android phone.

Replies are Apple Mail's business. Replying from an alias works within Apple's mail apps. Using an arbitrary desktop client the way you would with a normal account is not the shape of the product.

Custom domains are limited. iCloud+ supports custom domains, with constraints on how many and how they work, and it is not a catch-all system where any invented address exists on arrival.

You cannot leave with them. This is the one that matters. Aliases live on Apple's domain and are tied to your Apple account. Stop paying, or leave the ecosystem, and every address you handed out is a decision Apple makes rather than one you make.

What we do differently

Forward anywhere, and to different places per alias. Your own domain with catch-all, which means we can vanish and your addresses keep working. Reply from any mail client. Sign up with no email address and pay in cash if you want. Open source.

What they do better

It is free with a subscription many people already have, it is invisible, and it requires no thought. If those are your criteria, use theirs.
