alias.mom is small, independent, and fully open source. There are two ways to get involved: contribute to the code, or come work with us.
Contribute
The entire service is open source under the AGPL: server, mail handler, web app, everything. Nothing is a black box. If you want to read it, run it, or improve it, please do.
Code
Fix a bug, add a feature, or harden the mail path. Small, focused pull requests are the easiest to review and merge.
Docs & translations
Clearer guides help more people stay private. Translations widen who we can reach; the app already runs in more than one language.
Test & report
Break things and tell us how. Deliverability edge cases, odd mail clients, and accessibility gaps are all genuinely useful reports.

Work with us
We're a tiny team and we'd rather grow slowly with people who care about the mission than hire fast. If privacy-by-default, no dark patterns, and honest engineering sound like your kind of thing, we'd love to hear from you.
Areas we'd most welcome help with:
- Mail systems & deliverability. Postfix, DKIM/SPF/DMARC, IP reputation, the stuff that keeps forwarded mail landing in the inbox.
- Security. Reviewing the auth, the OIDC provider, and the mail path with an adversarial eye.
- Frontend & design. Keeping the app fast, accessible, and obvious on every screen size.
- Support & community. Helping users and shepherding contributors.
