Pay anonymously

Your account is a number, so paying requires no name, no email, and no card on file. They are not equally private, though, so here they are in order:

Cash by mail. Nothing digital to trace. The slip carries a single-use payment code and no account reference; we erase the code when we credit you, then shred the slip and envelope.
Monero. Private by construction; the amounts and parties aren't public.
Bitcoin. Works, but be aware it's a public ledger. If the coins are traceable to you (bought at an exchange with ID, say), the payment is too. Monero is the better choice if that matters.
Card. The convenient one, and the least private: your processor knows who you are. We keep no card number and no name, and we erase the processor reference once it's no longer needed for refunds.

We credit paid time by the day, so any amount works. Send a round number in cash and you'll get exactly the days it's worth, with no correspondence needed to sort out the difference. That's deliberate: on the cash path we have no way to reach you, and we'd rather not need one.

Common questions

If I link a forwarding email anyway, what's the point of an anonymous account number?

The number and the forwarding address sit at two different trust levels. The 16-digit number is your login: no email, no password. We keep only a one-way hash of it, so a breach or subpoena of our accounts reveals nothing that logs in or points to you. When your email is your account (as it is almost everywhere else), your identity is the database key. The forwarding address is just a destination: we never verify it as "you", you can change or remove it, it can be another masked address or a privacy inbox. Or skip it entirely with inbox mode, where mail stays on the alias with no personal mailbox behind it. So we never hold a verified link between who you are and what you do. Honest limit: if you forward to your normal Gmail, Google still sees that mail: the number protects you against us and the sites you sign up to, not against your own mailbox provider.

If I cancel, what happens to my aliases?

They keep working, forever. You just can't create new ones beyond the free tier until you top up again. We never hold your logins hostage.

Do you offer student or education discounts?

We'd love to, but verifying you're a student means processing your identity and enrollment: the exact personal data we refuse to collect to keep your account anonymous. Rather than break that promise, we keep one honest price for everyone and let institutions cover their people directly: see plans for institutions & enterprise.

Discounts for non-profits, activists, or journalists?

Our promise is that everyone pays the same. No coupons, no special deals, no affiliates. For organisations we offer custom institution pricing (above); for individuals the flat price already is the deal.

Do you offer refunds?

You pay in time-credit, not a locked subscription. Stop any time and your aliases survive, so there's nothing to be trapped in. If you were charged in error, email us and we'll sort it out.

Is this just disposable email?

No, the opposite. Aliases are permanent, private, and two-way. Here's why alias.mom isn't disposable mail.
